As part of the programme of the Interreg Italy–Switzerland BlitzArt project, Fondazione Canova is organising a practical workshop dedicated to traditional lime-based plasters and finishes, led by craftsman Constantin Rosu.

The activity, free of charge and held in Italian, will offer participants the opportunity to approach historic plastering techniques and to understand their importance in the restoration of traditional architecture.

The workshop will combine a short theoretical introduction, focused on lime, plaster composition, stratigraphy and application techniques, with hands-on practical work on site. Participants will directly experiment with the preparation of mixtures and the different stages of plastering, from the scratch coat (rinzaffo) and base coat (arriccio) to finishing layers such as fine plaster, stucco and limewash.

Through direct experience, participants will rediscover an ancient building knowledge and explore its potential for the conservation and enhancement of Alpine architectural heritage.
